This long safari will give you the best highlights for Uganda from amazing game drives in the savannah park to encounter the Big 5, off the beaten tracks in the north and indigenous tribes to chimpanzees in Kibale National Park and encounter with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable.

Tour Plan

Day 1 | Arrival in Entebbe.

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport meet your guide from Nsavi Safaris who will then transfer you to your hotel for an overnight.

Day 2 | Jinja & Source of the Nile.

Start your journey to Jinja. Established in 1907 Jinja is a former Industrial as well as the second largest town in Uganda and also home to the Source of the River Nile. Have a boat ride to the source of the Nile Arrive later at your lodge for an overnight.

Day 3 | Optional activities.

Spend the day relaxing at the lodge or choose from the optional activities available. These include white water rafting on the Nile, Kayaking, Bungee jumping, horse riding where you enjoy leisurely rides through the villages and farm lands along the Nile or opt for a bike ride. Dinner and overnight at your hotel/lodge on Full Board (FB)

Day 4 | Drive to Sipi Falls

Proceed to Sipi Falls; arrive in time for the trek through the Sipi Falls, characterized by spectacular falls along river Sipi. The region is predominantly panoramic with the view of the unique Karamoja valley. And in the afternoon go for a coffee community walk. you will learn about coffee and personally experience the processes of coffee growth, drying, and processing locally. The Sipi Falls area, found at the base of Mount Elgon is particularly famous for Bugisu Arabica Coffee produced and grown by the Local farmers. Bugisu Arabica only grows at an altitude of between 1,600 and 1,900 metres; it is the main cash crop in the area and genuinely one of the finest coffee's in the world. Later return for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 5 | Drive to Moroto.

Drive to you will drive to Moroto town to spend the night right before your next. Along the way you will visit the Nyero rock paintings. They comprise of a three-tiered rock shelter with primitive paintings on the inner surface that dates back to the Iron Age.  Enjoy the beautiful and quiet ambiance that this peaceful town exudes.

Day 6 | Kidepo Valley National Park.

Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and drive to Kidepo Valley National Park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, some 700km from Kampala. Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national park is also the most magnificent, for Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses.

Day 7 | Nature walk & Game drive.

You will have a morning nature walk in the park. In the afternoon have game drive through the Narus Valley where you will have a chance to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, huge herds of buffalo, warthogs, duikers, Jackson’s Hartebeest, lions, leopards, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. Other animals that may be seen roaming around include: Jackal Roan, Antelope, Waterbuck, Eland, Oribi, Klipspringer and Lions. The park also boasts of being the highest concentration of birds endemic to Uganda like: Ostrich, Kori bustard, vultures, pygmy falcon, hornbills, eagles and more.

Day 8 | Game drive & community visit.

Have a morning game that will take you to see herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras and hopefully some lions, leopard and the elusive cheetah.  This will also give you a chance to see varieties of birds as well.  Return to the lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon, go for a cultural tour in the Karamajong community. Here you will spend a wonderful evening with Karamajong people and have an insight of their way of life and beliefs.

Day 9 | Murchison Falls National Park.

Drive to Murchison Falls national park one of the country’s biggest national park. The park boasts of 76 mammal species and 451 bird species that thrive in the open savannah and tropical forests. Have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge or camp on full board.

Day 10 | Game drive, Boat ride to the falls.

Today, experience the morning game drive in these savannah national parks and expect some of the animals like elephants, buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, oribis, bushbucks, among others if lucky lions, spotted hyenas and leopards. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on Victoria Nile to the base of the Murchison Falls. Expect to encounter some of the animals like hippos, crocodiles, variety of water bird species. Drive to the top of the falls for an amazing viewing experience.

Day 11 | Kibale Forest National Park.

After your breakfast, depart in direction of Kibale National Park, have a stopover in Fort Portal, the capital town of Tooro kingdom that lies on the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains, the biggest mountain range in Africa.

Day 12 | Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi swamp walk.

Today you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park, the chimpanzees. With over 1,450 individuals protected within the park, Kibale forest is home to the largest number of the endangered chimpanzees in Uganda. In the afternoon after tracking, you have the opportunity for a guided walk through the swamps of Bigodi.

Day 13 | Semuliki National Park & Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Today, drive to Semuliki National Park and have a nature walk to the hotsprings ,have a stop at a viewing point for the great rift valley. Thereafter, drive you will drive to the world-famous Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing the equator along the way. Have brief evening game drive to the lodge.

Day 14 | Game drive, Boat ride on Kazinga Channel.

Early morning game drives experience in the national park, intending to see animals like elephants, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, waterbucks, Ugandan kobs, and if lucky lion and leopard.This will also take you to the Katwe slt lake.  In the afternoon, take the most exciting 2 hours boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, one of the most popular sites in Uganda for its concentration of wildlife and bird.

Day 15 | Ishasha sector.

After breakfast, drive through the National Park to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for tree-climbing lions. After lunch, game drive in search of the tree-climbing lions.

Day 16 | Bwindi National Park

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park home to the endangered mountain gorillas.. The park is home to the largest population of mountain gorillas and hosts a variety of spectacular birds including 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemic bird species including Blue-throated Broadbill, bar-tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. You shall go to bed earlier this evening so that you are well rested for thrilling experience of gorilla tracking the next day. Accommodation will depend on the group of gorillas you will be tracking.

Day 17 | Gorilla trekking experience.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters where you will have an orientation and meet your guides for the day. Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 7 hours, but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. The trekking is a thrill and yet challenging as you hike through the forest  to the Gorillas and once you reach a gorilla family, you will have a chance to observe the family at close proximity for an hour.

Day 18 | Lake Bunyonyi

Today, you will drive to a wonderful place by the Lake Bunyonyi. Along the way you will have spectacular breathtaking views of the terraced hills in Kabale. Kabale is very hilly and in most instances referred to as the Switzerland of Uganda. Drive straight to your accommodation, spend the day relaxing and have an afternoon boat ride on the Lake

Day 19 | Lake Mburo National Park.

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest of Ugandan National Parks. As you enter, go for a game drive in search of animals like impalas, zebras, elands, and many other antelopes.

Day 20 | Entebbe & Departure.

Early in the morning have a guided nature walk. Drive to back to Entebbe and take your flight back home ending your tour.
