This safari will give you the best highlights for Uganda from amazing game drives in the savannah park to encounter the Big 5 including a visit to Ishasha sector, the home of tree climbing lions to chimpanzees in Kibale National Park and encounter with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable.
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport meet your guide from Nsavi Safaris who will then transfer you to your hotel for an overnight.
Today you will be picked up and proceed to the next highlight of your memorable tour in Uganda, going on to the beautiful north-western Uganda to Murchison Falls National Park. Murchison Falls National Park is one of Ugandas largest conservation areas and boast of 76 mammal species and 451 bird species that thrive in the open savannah and tropical forests. Enroute visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to 22 southern white rhinos. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a project under Rhino Fund Uganda and Uganda Wildlife Authority to re-introduce Rhinos back to the wild following their extinction in 1980’s due to uncontrolled poaching. After lunch continue to Murchison Falls and proceed to your Lodge.
Today, you will have a scheduled morning delta boat ride on the Albert Nile where you will have chance to search for the elusive shoebill stork, have a bush breakfast and then proceed for a game drive. This is a beautiful drive across savannah, Borassus Palm Forest and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. Drive in the open African savanna in search for Lions, Leopard, Hyena, Buffalo, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest. Oribi, Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, and enjoy spotting various Bird species. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride up the Nile to Murchison falls. Enjoy these spectacular falls where the Nile squeezes through a 7 meter gap.
Drive to the top of the falls and then continue to drive to Kibale National Park along the way you will pass by tea plantations. Kibale Forest is a diverse forest that boasts of 13 species of primates such as the Red colobus, grey checked mangabey and Red tailed monkeys, Rare L’Hoest monkey as well as over 335 bird species with some rare and endemic to the Albertine region and varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. In the afternoon you will arrive at your accommodation.
You will go for Chimpanzee tracking and enjoy a wonderful forest experience with these habituated chimpanzees. These engaging apes are closest to human beings and are great to watch being playful both on ground and in the trees. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland where you will have a chance to see different primates and bird species especially the Great Blue turaco popular in this area while getting to know the communities nearby and their projects
After breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, along the way drive by the Kasenda crater lakes, proceed to the park is one of Uganda's most popular and most scenic game drives with a wide variety of wild game and over 600 bird species incorporating a wide variety of habitats that range from savanna to wetlands and lowland forest. In the afternoon, you shall have a boat ride on Kazinga Channel.
Have an Early Morning Game drive. Thereafter, you will drive to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth -Ishasha. This sector is notably known for its resident tree climbing Lions that are an exceptional attraction in the park. You will have a game drive in search of tree climbing Lions
Today,you will have another game drive in search of tree climbing Lions. Thereafter, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is a UNESCO Natural world Heritage site that is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. This fascinating mountain forest hosts of animals and spectacular birds including 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemic bird species including Blue-throated Broadbill, bar-tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. En-route Visit to the gorilla clinic in buhoma and proceed to your accommodation. You shall go to bed earlier this evening keeping in mind that you are sleeping in the rain forest since you should be well rested for thrilling experience of gorilla tracking the next day.
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters where you will have an orientation and meet your guides for the day. Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 7 hours, but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. The trekking can entail climbing, hiking but once you reach a gorilla family, you will have a chance to observe the family at close proximity for an hour.
Today you will have a breakfast and then proceed for an 8-10 hours’ drive to Entebbe International airport and connect with your onward evening flight back home.
